In From Thine Own Well the corporate interests override the needs of the citizens.

Employment is one of the needs of any citizenry. In an article in the Vancouver Sun by Rob Shaw, published July 25, 2014, reports that the BC government has capitulated and will allow China to use foreign workers to build Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plants.

The article quotes the agreement:

The two sides will “work together with the appropriate authorities to secure and facilitate the entry of foreign workers” in B.C., while “respecting the priority of hiring domestic labour wherever possible,” according to the agreement.

Not everyone in the province has the trust and faith that the agreement will not mean anything other than the hiring of foreign workers over-riding the employment of locals.
